戸田 沙也加
美しさの中に潜む醜さ、醜さの中に宿る美しさ、女性性や男性性を横断するジェンダー観の両義的な在り方を、植物や花、女性の姿を通して表現する。
見過ごされてきた存在や記号化されたものに注目し、絵画や写真、映像、インスタレーションなど多様なメディアを横断しながら、その本質を映し出す。 近年は、友人や家族といった、身近な関係から生まれた問いを起点に、個人の記憶や歴史、社会的な課題と向き合う作品を展開している。
Her work explores the duality inherent in beauty and ugliness, as well as in gender, through representations of plants, flowers, and the female form.
Focusing on overlooked or symbolically codified subjects, she traverses various media̶including painting, photography, video, and installation reveal their layered essence.
In recent years, she has presented works that stem from questions arising within close personal relationships, engaging with memory, history, and broader social concerns.
